Scripture says, "do not be anxious about anything," yet many of us find the young people in our lives to be filled with worry and anxiety - about their friends, their family, school and sports performance pressures, their futures, the future of the world they live in, and so much more. They're even worried about their level of anxiety! Statistics indicate today's young people are more anxious than ever before. The last thing we want is for the young people in our lives to struggle with anxiety in ways that inhibit their ability to function and enjoy life. In this session we will utilize a research-drive, faith-informed approach to explore both the psychological and spiritual aspects of anxiety. This presentation will provide information on how anxiety affects the body, mind, behavior, thoughts, and feelings. Then we will explore specific, practical ways adults can partner with young people to tame anxiety and will provide coping skills to help them live more confidently. Our world is never going to be a completely safe and understandable place. In the midst of this, young people can still experience greater and lasting peace. The practical tools we will explore can equip adults to help them achieve this.
